Welcome to ART at Lakewood! For my project I chose to capture the amazing environment of collaboration, creativity, and fun that students get to experience during Ms. Dow's art class. I learned about the behind the scenes process for developing the art skills of elementary students, as well as their day-to-day schedules. This documentary features the personal experiences of several students as well as the friendships that have formed through this class. We often take for granted the opportunity for artistic expression when we were younger, so take a walk down memory lane into Ms. Dow's art room.

I loved art class when I was younger and felt very drawn to do my project in this classroom. I want to say a huge thank you to Ms. Dow and her student teacher, Ms. Jones for letting me into their classes this semester. I appreciate how much work goes on during class and behind the scenes to create this type of setting for the students, and it is truly amazing! Getting to talk to the students and hear how passionate they are about their projects was one of my favorite parts. They were so eager to tell me their ideas, and I truly looked forward to seeing their progress each time I came. Thank you also to Susie and Dhruv for teaching me the skills to complete a project like this; it was an amazing experience for which I am so grateful!
