This story shows the special bond between Miss McPherson and her fourth-grade class, a group that feels more like a family. Miss McPherson chose to move up her third grade class so she is with them for two years. This created a classroom where everyone feels supported and valued. Whether they're helping each other with math, sharing stories about their weekends, or playing games at recess, her care and patience shine through. The documentary highlights how her dedication has built a safe and happy space where her students can grow, learn, and thrive together.
I started going to this class not sure what to expect, but the love that I documented within these walls began to shine through very quickly. Very soon I was greeted with hugs and left with warm goodbye's. The best part about photographing a class with such a tight bond is getting to see everyone's personalities shine through. I am so glad to have had this experience, meeting such a beautiful family of kids and such a wonderful teacher.
